Speaker Configuration.  All Onkyo AV home cinema receivers provide for both 7.1 and 5.1 speaker configurations.  

HD TV. there are two HD-TV standards;, 720p and 1080p.  Onkyo AV home cinema receivers is able to switch both standards. At present 720p (also called 1080i) is broadcast HD-TV, from SKY HD and Freesat HD.  1080p is used for Blu-ray players and some gamming consoles.

HDMI.  This is the interconnecting cable standard used to connect each part of the AV system together.
