| | Audio Pro has always more than ‘held its own’ in independent tests of subwoofers. We’ve now raised our technology to a new level. ACE-BASS 2 is a unique subwoofer with incredible performance for a speaker this size. It reproduces bass information with detail, power and control that impress. The bass reproduction sets a new standard for what such a small subwoofer can achieve. With the ACE-BASS 2 we aimed to build the smallest possible subwoofer capable of delivering bass sounds that exceed the expectations of even the most discerning music enthusiast. ACE-BASS 2 is equipped with four small specially designed 5 1/2” bass drivers with neodymium magnets. To make bass reproduction as good as possible, ACE-BASS 2is equipped with an adaptive filter. Deep base tones are rendered with the help of a 10” passive radiator with a linear stroke of 25 mm and extremely low losses. |
| | Totally unique in design and approach, the Ace Bass 2 is set to change the concept of bass reproduction. The primary design objective was to create a subwoofer of the highest performance whilst retaining a small footprint. To this end a multi-driver approach was found to offer exceptional; depth, control, and slam within a small cabinet. Four 5 ½” long throw drivers powered by a 500W Ace-Bass amplifier work in harmony with a 10” passive radiator. Such an arrangement provides all the depth and slam of a larger driver, but with the greater control and speed afforded by the use of smaller drive units. High power Neodymium magnets and long throw voice coils allow the four drivers to remain linear during the most demanding music and film passages. Multiple connection options are provided. An LFE input bypasses the in-built crossover using the digital crossover within the connected AV amplifier. The stereo line level inputs and outputs permit the direct connection of a stereo preamplifier whilst still retaining the variable high-pass filter. Finally a stereo speaker level input permits direct connection to an integrated amplifier. With this arrangement smaller satellite speakers connected to the high-pass output of the Ace Bass 2 are protected from all frequencies below 100Hz allowing the whole system to operate with greater control and to higher output levels. With a Satin finished Titanium Grey cabinet the Ace Bass 2 will not visually draw attention to itself, but when music or film tracks demand you will certainly be aware of its presence. |
